Client: Eggleston Office, a Dallas–Fort Worth office furniture dealer
The Situation
Eggleston Office sells new and used office furniture across DFW. The used side of the business has a problem every dealer knows: inventory moves fast, and it lives in a supplier system that doesn’t talk to the website. Every desk, chair, and cubicle set had to be re-entered by hand — photos, specs, pricing — and then remembered and removed when it sold.
In practice, that meant the website was always behind. Customers called about items that were gone. Fresh inventory sat invisible for days.
The Problem Behind the Problem
The obvious fix — “hire someone to update the website” — just moves the cost. The real requirement was for the website to mirror the supplier system automatically, with zero manual steps, and to fail safely: an automation that accidentally marks live inventory as sold is worse than no automation at all.
What We Built
A sync engine that reads the supplier’s inventory system and mirrors it into the website’s catalog. New items appear with their photos and specs. Sold items retire automatically.
The mark-sold logic is deliberately conservative — items are only retired on confirmed signals, never on a missed read or a network hiccup, so a temporary glitch can’t wipe out the live catalog.
The Result
The online used-furniture catalog now maintains itself. No re-keying, no stale listings, no “sorry, that one’s gone” phone calls. Staff time goes to selling furniture instead of retyping it.
This is what most of our custom app work looks like: not flashy AI demos — a specific, expensive, repetitive job handed permanently to software.
